** Name Change -- Due to a bill recently signed into law by Ohio 's Governor, the name of the elected office known as Township Clerk was changed to Township Fiscal Officer. The name change reflects the financial responsibilities of the office far better than the title of “Clerk”. The change became effective December 2005
The Ohio Revised Code specifies the duties of the fiscal officer, which include:

Keeping accurate record of the proceedings of board of township trustee meetings. |

Keeping accurate records of all the accounts and transactions of the township trustees including preparing payroll and issuing all checks. |
